At MSIG, we recognise that our people are our most valuable asset, and teamwork helps to drive collective resilience. With over 30 competitive athletes in our Head Office at Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Japan, there are lots of valuable insights and lessons we can learn from their unwavering determination, tenacity and relentless pursuit of excellence.

“Celebrating Our People” is part of our employee recognition series where we spotlight the achievements of our very own talents. This interview features our colleagues from Japan, Satoru Yoneoka and Kohei Tsubaki, who teamed up to compete in a triathlon event on the global stage. Yoneoka is a visually impaired athlete while Tsubaki, his guide, is a cancer survivor. Here are their personal stories of how they draw upon resilience and teamwork not only in sports, but also at work and in their daily lives.
