Did You Know? Proper Towing Procedure

Getting trouble with car, collisions or engine trouble may occur anytime and anywhere. When your vehicle  needs a tow, it is very important how to know the towing procedure and the type of towing car that will be used to tow your car to prevent other damage due to wrong towing procedures, improper towing procedures can cause extensive damages and can be more expensive repair costs.

Each vehicle’s manufacturer has a different types of drivetrain, as generally vehicle’s drivetrain is divided into 4 types as follow:

  1. Front Wheel Drive (FWD) Cars with front wheel drive. Tow from the front side
  2. Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) Cars with rear wheel drive. Tow from backside
  3. Four Wheel Drive (4WD) Cars with four-wheel drive
  4. All Wheel Drive (AWD) Cars with all-wheel drive

For 4WD, AWD cars, and for cars with automatic transmission, it is highly recommended to use flatbed tow truck to prevent damage in transmission and drivetrain components.

Therefore, it is very important to decide type of towing to be requested and adjust with your type of car.
