Did You Know? Lifting Equipment License (SIA) and Operator License (SIO) – Forklift Operation

Forklift is one of the common lifting equipment used by companies to move goods. However, this technical equipment has a high level of risk that can trigger work accidents.

Every company that use forklift is required to have a SIA certificate (Lifting Equipment License) which is a forklift usage permit certificate for a company and also a SIO certificate (Operator License), a certificate given to individual in terms of the feasibility of operating a forklift. 
 

Class 1 Operator

Is an operator who has an Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) certification for Class 1 Forklift with a maximum load that can be lifted and the unit operated are more than 15 tons.

Class 2 Operator

Is an operator who has an Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) certification for Class 1 Forklift with a maximum load that can be lifted and the unit operated are more than 15 tons.


Please ensure that employees who operate forklift in your company have Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) certification for forklift issued by the Ministry of Manpower to prevent accidents that can cause material loss and personal injury.
