MSIG Ancileo Partnership

Jakarta, 04 May 2026 – PT Asuransi MSIG Indonesia (MSIG Indonesia) reaffirms its commitment to delivering more relevant, accessible, and technology-driven travel protection solutions, in line with MSIG Asia’s strategic partnership with Ancileo, a Singapore-based travel insurance technology company. This initiative strengthens MSIG Indonesia’s capabilities in addressing the protection needs of an increasingly mobile and dynamic society.

Through this partnership, MSIG and Ancileo will introduce travel protection solutions that are more personalised, intuitive, and easier to access, with a simplified and seamless claims experience. These solutions are designed to be embedded directly within the travel booking process—across airlines, online travel agencies (OTAs), and other platforms—allowing customers to access protection effortlessly at the point of planning their journeys.

Ancileo plays a key role in this collaboration by connecting MSIG’s insurance products with various travel platforms. Through its technology, Ancileo enables direct integration between travel booking systems and insurance services, allowing protection to be delivered more efficiently and consistently across markets. This approach also enables travel partners to roll out protection solutions more quickly, without the complex integration processes that have traditionally been required.

This integrated approach is increasingly relevant to the characteristics of the Indonesian market, where mobility is largely driven by strong domestic travel. Amid global dynamics affecting international travel, domestic travel continues to show a positive trend. According to data from Statistics Indonesia (BPS), domestic tourist trips reached approximately 91.14 million in February 2026, marking an increase compared to the same period in the previous year. This reflects the continued strength of domestic travel activity, which remains the primary driver of mobility in Indonesia.

In this context, MSIG Indonesia sees that the need for travel protection is no longer limited to international trips, but is becoming increasingly important for everyday domestic travel. With more than five decades of experience in Indonesia, MSIG Indonesia continues to innovate in expanding access and simplifying the customer journey, from policy purchase to claims processing.

Bernardus P. Wanandi, Vice President Director of MSIG Indonesia said, “The evolving travel patterns of Indonesians reflect a more dynamic lifestyle. The need for travel protection is also evolving, it is no longer only relevant for international trips, but is becoming increasingly important for everyday domestic travel. MSIG Indonesia is committed to being a trusted partner, delivering accessible and innovative protection solutions that provide peace of mind in every journey.”

This commitment is supported by a consistent track record of performance over more than five decades. MSIG Indonesia has been awarded “The Best Performance General Insurance Company in 15 Consecutive Years (2010–2024)” by Infobank, reflecting sustained market trust in the quality of its services and solutions.

At the regional level, the collaboration between MSIG Asia and Ancileo forms part of a long-term strategy to expand the development of travel insurance across Asia Pacific. It also strengthens MSIG’s position within an increasingly digital travel ecosystem. Currently, around 60% of MSIG’s travel insurance distribution in Asia comes from B2B2C partnerships, including airlines and travel platforms, with the role of embedded insurance in the booking journey continuing to grow

With Ancileo’s decade-long focus on the travel sector and a partnership with MSIG that dates back to 2020, this collaboration has already supported integrations with airlines and travel platforms across the region, including Scoot, Malaysia Airlines, and Trip.com.

Clemens Philippi, CEO of MSIG Asia added, “This marks a strategic milestone in strengthening MSIG’s leadership position in the general insurance market in Asia. We continue to invest in high-impact growth initiatives to accelerate our digital capabilities, in line with the rapid growth of travel across the region. Together with Ancileo, we aim to deliver more relevant and valuable experiences for our customers and partners.”

Olivier Michel, Founder & CEO of Ancileo said, “We believe this collaboration is not just about business expansion, but also about redefining what travel insurance can offer—creating real value for both customers and partners across Asia.”

Looking ahead, with the support of Ancileo’s technology and MSIG’s strong regional network, MSIG Indonesia is confident in further strengthening its role as a trusted travel protection partner for Indonesians.
