Become Pioneer in Indonesia’s Insurance Industry: MSIG Indonesia Introduces Drone Survey Service to Enhance Risk Management
Jakarta, 26 November 2025 – PT Asuransi MSIG Indonesia (MSIG Indonesia) leads the industry as the first insurer in Indonesia to implement high-resolution drone technology through its high-resolution Drone Survey Service. This innovation is undertaken to enhance preventive risk management.
This service is part of MSIG Indonesia’s Loss Control Service and is provided with no additional cost for corporate clients who is holding property insurance policies.
Through the Drone Survey Service, customers can gain an early understanding of the condition of their assets, particularly in hard-to-reach areas such as roofs or exterior sections of a building. This approach enables earlier detection of potential issues while also improving worker safety, as it eliminates the need for manual inspections in high-risk areas.
This initiative is also aligned with the policy direction of the Financial Services Authority (OJK), which encourages the adoption of digital technologies to enhance service quality and consumer protection. MSIG Indonesia is committed to delivering safer, more precise, and more efficient asset inspections to provide the best experience for its corporate clients.
“Through this Drone Survey Service, we aim to help our clients anticipate risks at an early stage. Surveys that previously required access to hazardous areas can now be conducted more safely, and the results can be immediately utilized for asset maintenance and operational planning,” said Tomosuke Tsuruoka, Marketing Director MSIG Indonesia.
Furthermore, this drones survey services also allow surveyors to see building conditions more clearly than traditional methods. They can capture high-resolution images from several angles—for example top-down, angled, and zoomed—making it easier to identify corrosion, cracks, loose panels, or early leakage indicators. When needed, the use of thermal or infrared cameras also helps identify hot spots or temperature anomalies that are not visible through standard visual inspections. These findings can serve as early indicators of potential issues in specific areas.
In practice, the drone will capture comprehensive visual footage of the surveyed building. In specific cases, thermal cameras may also be used to detect temperature variations that indicate potential issues in electrical systems or solar panels. This information helps customers determine follow-up priorities based on clearer visual findings.
MSIG Indonesia emphasizes that this service is not intended to replace professional technical assessments or inspection vendors. The drone technology is used as a supporting tool for risk evaluation, not as a commercial inspection service. The visuals obtained are meant to provide customers with an initial overview, while technical follow-ups remain under the authority and responsibility of internal teams or qualified professional service providers.
“When the condition of an asset can be identified earlier, companies have more room to respond quickly and set handling priorities more accurately. This approach not only helps maintain operational continuity but also ensures that facilities remain in a condition that supports long-term business stability and sustainability,” added Tomosuke Tsuruoka.
