Jakarta, July 20, 2025 – MSIG Serenity Cup™ trophy, the symbol of Southeast Asia’s most prestigious women’s football tournament, has officially arrived in Jakarta as part of its regional Trophy Tour. Its presence builds excitement and momentum ahead of the main tournament taking place in Vietnam, from August 6 to 19, 2025.

The MSIG Serenity Cup™ trophy features 10 fan-like arches rising upward, each representing one of the 10 ASEAN member countries. The design symbolizes the strength, journey, and unique contributions of each nation to the development of women’s football. The open fan shape also reflects beauty, inclusivity, and the limitless potential of women especially through sports.

This year’s tournament will see eight national teams compete: the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Myanmar, Cambodia, Timor-Leste, and Australia. The MSIG Serenity Cup™ continues the legacy of ASEAN women’s football tournaments that began in 2004. Over the years, the tournament has grown to embody unity, sportsmanship, and equal opportunities for women.

MSIG’s role as title partner underscores its commitment to equality and women’s empowerment, including in the world of sports. As part of the global MSIG network, both MSIG Indonesia and MSIG Life share the same mission, to empower women to protect and pursue their life goals, both on and off the pitch.

Bernard Wanandi, Vice President Director of MSIG Indonesia, stated, “We are deeply honored to serve as the title sponsor of the ASEAN Women’s MSIG Serenity Cup™ 2025. This tournament provides a meaningful platform to support the remarkable progress of women’s football in Indonesia and across Southeast Asia. Our support underscores not only our commitment to empowering women, but also our responsibility to help drive inclusive growth in sports.”

Tomoyuki Monden, Deputy President Director of MSIG Life, added, “Our support for the MSIG Serenity Cup™ is aligned with MSIG Life’s purpose to help individuals lead more meaningful lives. Just as we provide financial protection, we are also committed to enabling more women to pursue their fullest potential. We believe that when women are given the opportunity, they can shape a brighter future for themselves, their families, and their communities.”

In a separate opportunity, Galih Kartasasmita, Manager of the Indonesian Women’s National Football Team, emphasized the team’s preparedness and growing confidence ahead of this year’s tournament. “MSIG’s support has opened up greater competitive opportunities and exposure for our players. This is a critical step in the professional development of women’s football as an industry. With an experienced coaching staff and an increasingly mature squad, our goal is to reach the semifinals or further,” he said.

In conjunction with the Trophy Tour, today also saw the MSIG U-12 Girls Football Festival, involving 120 girls aged 6 to 11 from local football academies across Jakarta. The event was a collaborative effort between MSIG Indonesia, MSIG Life, AirAsia, and ASBWI (the Indonesian Women’s Football Association). AirAsia, official sponsor of ASEAN United FC (AUFC), the new regional brand representing four key ASEAN tournaments including the MSIG Serenity Cup™, also supported the festival and its coaching clinics.

The event was further enriched by the presence of two Indonesian women’s national team players, who shared their journeys from grassroots football schools to representing the country at international tournaments. Their stories serve as powerful inspiration for young girls, demonstrating that with dedication, discipline, and resilience, any dream is within reach.

Through this initiative, MSIG aims to create impactful experiences that foster self-confidence, teamwork, and perseverance among girls, key values that extend beyond the pitch and contribute to building a more empowered and equitable next generation.
