Revisiting Paliyan, Yogyakarta, MSIG Indonesia Donated Non-formal Education Support for Elementary School Students

Visiting Paliyan

MSIG Indonesia again handed over education donations for elementary school students. The donation was intended for students in 12 elementary schools in Paliyan, Gunung Kidul, Yogyakarta. The event, which was held on Friday, September 23, 2022, was attended by MSIG Indonesia's board of directors and Technical Advisor. On this occasion, MSIG Indonesia provided donations that are expected to further improve the quality of the formal and non-formal education of these elementary school students. Rampak Dance costumes, wall and wireless loudspeakers, table tennis sports equipment, badminton sports equipment, first aid equipment, backpacks, and other items were among the 28 types of donations.

In his speech, the President Director of MSIG Indonesia, Shikato Takeuchi, said, "MSIG Indonesia provides continuous support for students, with a total of about 1,348 students in several elementary schools around the Paliyan area. This year, we donated books and library equipment as well as other learning support tools such as health equipment, art equipment, sports equipment, and others."

In this series of activities, a visit was also made to the Forest Recovery and Conservation Project camp in the Paliyan Wildlife Sanctuary to see it firsthand and find out more about this project, especially for most of those who visited for the first time. By seeing it in person, it will certainly add more insight and knowledge about the forest and its relation to forest conservation that has been implemented so far.

This education donation is a continuous activity held by MSIG Indonesia since 2005 with the aim to provide sustainable support to the community around the Paliyan Reforestation Project. By supporting sustainable basic education, it is hoped that the surrounding community can contribute to the success of the Paliyan Reforestation program.
